Old roots

March 17, 2008

Today I woke up at 9:30 am and my dad told me to get ready to take Maximus out for a ride in the truck that my dad purchased specially for that purpose.

So we packed up the truck with Maximus’ stuff, coats, water and other necessities and we set off.

Our destiny: Centro Ceremonial Otomí.

Maximus was very excited, it was the first time that he took a road trip with all the family. WE went by the highway and the scenery was great.

We even saw an eagle!

After what seemed lioke hours of this!

We saw a sign! We thought we were lost, my dad said “If we get to half a tank of gas, we start making our way back”.

Then we crossed this valley and…

There it was (Admittance: 6 pesos for parking, 13.50 pesos per adult, doggies free!).

My mum and I decided to go ahead and take pictures, this is the Center as seen from the outside.

We got in the way of some photographers, I have a tendency to do that, but my shots always come out amazing!

This is the entrance to the courtyard.

The courtyard as seen from the outside of the museum! The drawing in the middle is gorgeous.

Then we climbed the stairs! Quite fast I must add.

The museum and the courtyard as seen from above.

Isn’t it just wonderful??

I really liked this cone shaped constructions, I think they are funny looking.

To prove that I was indeed there, check out my style ;) .

I was afraid I was going to fall down.

I’m the queen of the world!

Posing!

Isn’t the view amazing!? I loved this! The fresh air made my eyes all watery and irritated, I need smog to survive. I even started to get sick! WFT? Indeed.

We went into the museum.

This pics are illegal, but I managed to sneak a few in my camera without the guard noticing. Aren’t I a cunning little thing?

We went back to the truck, Maximus was very tired.

A duck lake I deemed interesting enough to be posted n_n.

More of this on our way back home.

BTW I have my new control:

I named it sparky because it glows a lot. Thank you Daddy!

Off to sleep a bit.

Kisses,

Julie.

My little adventure

March 15, 2008

Yesterday I didn’t do anything interesting but ask Maximus to pose while I took some pictures, BTW he’s going to the doggie salon today n_n.

I also played a lot of Rachet and Clank!! I loooove that game *_*!

Like at three o’clock, my mum told me to eat fast and get ready (I was in my pajamas, yes I’m lazy :P ). I was like WTF? Where are we going? and she told me that we were going to go to meet Tsuneo-san and Vicky for dinner at a very posh japanese restaurant in the city. You can guess that 5 minutes later I was ready to go n_n (OK it was more like an hour and a half u_u).

I was wearing:

  • Hurley Lyrics T-shirt
  • Sicko 19 ripped jeans
  • Zara jacket
  • Brantano pumps

My mum really liked this this thing (we were at Vicky’s house)

The restaurant is called FUJI, it is located in Río Pánuco just two blocks away from El Ángel de la Independencia.

I really liked the entrance n_n.

Mum and dad seated, the little things floating behind them are FUGU!!!!! Dry fugu, eugh!

Tsuneo and Vicky. Tsuneo ordered all the food for us, I was scared at first ~_~.

My sister arrived later because she came from work.

Here I was eating some snacks but I didn’t take a picture of them :P .

This is a kind of Japanese soup which is very condimented and has a kind of sweet flavor. You are supposed to take some of it wit is simmering and put it into a little bowl containing a raw egg and eat it. By itself it tastes great but the egg made it way too sweet for my taste. BTW, I want a magic pan!!!

This is raw slices of meat, you are supposed to put it in the simmering soup and it gets cooked instantly, only my dad attempted to eat it raw, and he loooved it ~_~.

This was another kind of soup, the difference is that you didn’t have to combine this one with the raw egg. I didn’t taste it though.

All of us eating away like it was our last supper.

Fried rice, love love love love ♥_♥.

Iced tempura!!! With chocolate. My sister and I asked for one for the both of us but since we couldn’t agree n a sauce they split the tempura and gave half with chocolate and half with strawberry to her.

Then we had some sake, KAMPAI!

I really liked this tea pot.

Sake time!

Vicky and my sister.

Then we went back home, Kampai!

Kisses,

Julie.

P.S.: no I did not have any stomachal issues with the food n_n.

My first time…

February 1, 2008

… At Saks Fifth Avenue.

In case you don’t know, the first Saks Fifth Avenue opened recently here in Mexico. It is located in one of the biggest (if not the biggest) mall of the city.

I got there because just moments after I wrote my last entry, my sister called and said that if I wanted her to take me there along with Liz. Of course we said yes and off we were.

We arrived to Santa Fe (the mall) and went to Liverpool because my sister had to do some work there, then we went to the food court to get soething to eat and after that we went to SAKS.

The store was empty, I think that there was a guy and us in there. Liz and I weren’t looking “fashionable” enough to be there and got the same look that Julia Robert’s gets when she enters the fancy boutique on Pretty Woman.

We looked at everything and of course I don’t have the budget to buy there, not even on sale jeje. Then we went down a floor and I saw them… the most beautiful shoes that I have ever laid my eyes on… right before me were…

Christian Louboutin’s!

OMG, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Honestly, they looked so perfect. Of course they were way too expensive and I just looked quickly before I got a seizure.

Then my sister got us ice cream at Dolce Mondo and we left to go back to school.

We had fun and I got to touch Louboutin’s.

I want them u_u.

Kisses,

Julie.

Markets, walking and a bus

January 19, 2008

My dad started pretty muhc like any other Saturday until my mum and sister decided that They wanted to go to a market on the other side of the city. I was in a soon as I heard. We left home and took a cab to the Fountain of Cibeles near Insurgentes. Here’s what I was wearing:

  • Nicholas Jeans
  • Grey striped Bershka shirt
  • Space Moon Toys sweatshirt from Pull and Bear
  • Grey striped Keds

We arrived there without traffic and decided to explore the market a bit and then look for somewhere to eat. There wasn’t a lot of activity in the market because we arrived when everyone was setting up their stands. We decided to go to the food aisle and we settled down to eat at TACOS MARIO’S!!!

I had a Pastor Taco and a Suadero one, they were delicious!!! So delicious I get hungry just thinking about them. I took a picture so that you can drool over their greatness with me. I swear they are better than Latoso’s Tacos!!!

I also had Jamaica water that was great and it was very big!!

After indulging ourselves with some tacos we decided to re-explore the market. We found a lot of clothes but we wnated to shop for other stuff. The only thing I liked were the hot pink extesions that I had no money for T_T I could cry after that. Outside of the market there was a sushi restaurant featuring Anime pictures isn’t it cool?

Sice the market was such a fiasco we headed to Palacio de Hierro to check out stuff we stayed there for an hour. My sister bought a shirt and I did’t buy anything because I left my card home U_U.

We returned to the market to buy tacos for my dad and we started making our way home. We walked to Reforma and I stopped to take a pic of the Ángel de la Independencia and then we took a bus home.

There was a lot of traffic but we did little time. Then I changed and settle down to eat part of the Super Gringa we bought.

  • Extra: Jinbei top given to me by Maori. Apparently pink and red are colours reserved for the most beautiful women in Japan.

I’m off to do some homework.

Kisses,

Julie.

P.S.: Sorry fot the low quality of the pics but my camera has been kidnapped by my sister again!!!

Just getting home

January 4, 2008

Today I went to Plaza Satélite with my parents, they wanted to take me out of the house because apparently my skin is getting whiter from the lack of sun and they think that more time indoors will get me as white as Michael Jackson @_@.

Yes, my parents are insane.

Anyways, while I was in the mall I saw Luis Ángel (a friend of mine from college) with his girlfriend. So why is this blog-worthy? The thing is that most of us had only heard about his girlfriend, we even doubted her existence. Well, I can only saw that she is gorgeous and they look so good together. She doesn’t seem like the jealous type n_n. I don’t have a picture though.

We went to eat at Sbarro, it is a little expensive for fast food but it was worth it. The food was delicious n_n.

After that we left and then we went to see houses around Satélite. I don’t know why we did that ^_^’. I guess they are going to buy another house, that’s weird becuase we haven’t even finished paying the one that we are living in. I repeat, my parents are weird.

On our way home we passed by Cafe Tacvba’s house in Satelite and I took a picture, it is a bad one but hey, I was inside a moving vehicle when I took it and yes, it was with my cell phone.

Kisses,

Julie.

Shopping, well not quite…

December 27, 2007

Today my dad decided that we needed a road trip so we headed off to Toluca. Toluca is the capital of the Mexico State and it is most know because the Nevado is there.

Anyways. just outside Toluca in a little town called Lerma there is the biggest Outlet in the outskirts of the City. So we headed over there.

First we stopped to eat some Quezadillas made with Blue Tortillas, delicious but way too expensive almost 300 pesos for 10 quezadillas, 1 marrow soup, 2 sodas and 2 orange juices.

My sister with her marrow soup

Quezadillas made with blue tortillas, delicious!!!

We get to the mall and it was HUUUGE, there were a lot of stores of brands that are very hard to get in Mexico like Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle and Hollister.

I fell in love with a store called Milk, they had this super cute hoodie that had bunny ears on the hood, it looked funny.

I didn’t buy a lot of things because my dad is still punishing me for almost failing Calculus, I just got some long black leggings and a grey hoodie.

My mum and sister spent hours looking at stuff and in the end they didn’t buy a lot of things.

My dad was pissed so the drive home was far from pleasant.

I can’t wait to go again!!!

Kisses,

Julie.

To the little town we go…

December 26, 2007

Today my mum woke me up and told e to get dressed because we were going to visit my grandmother.

It is tradition that most of my aunts stay at my grandmother’s along with many of my cousins and some of my nieces and nephews.

In total I have:

  • 10 aunts and uncles (my mum’s siblings only)
  • almost 50 cousins (agess go from 47 to 4)
  • like 25 nieces and nephews (ages 17 to 2 months)

Today at my grandmother’s were two of my uncles, my uncle Jaime and my uncle Chino (we call him that but his real name is Florentino like my grandfather). They were trying to outshine one another with their anecdotes and they spend the whole day talking to my sister and I. My grandma calls them The Positive and The Negative because they can’t get to an agreement.

My nephews and little cousin Jimena were playing with the dogs and with all their toys. My aunts were all talking about the new baby and just gossiping in general.

It was a good day, I ate a lot of Mexican food and laughed a lot.

My uncles, The Negative and Positive, in that order

With my cousin Jimena, she’s four years old.

With my grandmother!!!

With my uncle Chino, I don’t see him a lot because he lives in Celaya, Guanajuato.

My sister with my nephew Roberto, he lives in Ensenada, Baja California with my cousin.

Kisses,

Julie.

Still at home

December 22, 2007

My holidays suck, officially.

Nothing has happened to me at all.

Yesterday I talked to Liz, she is still feeling bad but I asked fer to make me a notebook. She is into crafts and she makes beautiful thigs, quite an artist my friend. She makes this beautiful textured notebooks using a lot of toilet paper, glue and paint. She is going to make one out of this drawing, of course it will be quite simple…

I love this drawing, it is by verdant on deviantART. I’m obssessed with the Dragon and Phoenix symbolism in China, the whole emperor and empress thing is just beautiful. And yes, I’ve watched The Curse of the Golden Flower n_n.

My sister went to the Cirque du Soleil yesterday, the play she watched was Quidam. She is bragging about it because she sat in front of some Secretary or other. I’m jealous, I’m not denying it. I’m happy for her, bt honestly do I have to hear it every five seconds??

Well, I’m off to eat some chilaquiles!!! Yummmy.

Kisses,

Julie.

Going to the mall

December 14, 2007

Today I’m going to the mall with my mum. We’re going to Plaza Satélite because there are a lot of banks there, I’d rather go to La Cúspide so that I can take pictures of the amazing view of my beloved polluted city for all of you to see.

Anyways I’m fighting with my hair (my curly self n_n) and my mum already wants to leave *sigh* I don’t want to go, but maybe I can buy something jejeje *rubs hands like Mr. Burns*.

On other things, I’m losing weight and I don’t know why, my metabolism is very weird *thinks*. I mean I want to lose a little bit of my cute belly but not like this. My mum is accusing me of anorexia and I’m like yeah, right! As if I could give up food, just ask Liz. Let’s see how it goes.

My mum is here, GTG.

Kisses,

Juls!

Late night!!!

December 12, 2007

And no it wasn’t for the right reasons.

If you don’t know, today December 12th, is the day of the Guadalupe Virgin. She’s really important here in Mexico and every catholic here worships her more than God himself (if you didn’t notice, I’m not religious at all ¬_¬).

Anyways in true Mexican fashion, everybody stayed up to sing her the Mañanitas and since I live near a town called Los Remedios and I could hear gunshots, fireworks, typical mexican cuetes. All of this at two in the morning!!! I need my beauty sleep poeple!

Then the singing and the mass started!!! Mass in the early morning, that is just plain crazy!!

I mean it is enough that I wake up at 8 in the morning on Sunday beacuse I can hear the mass all the way to my room!!!!

Moving on…

Things I found inside my closet:

  • Old Keyboard that I didn’t know I had
  • A box full of crayons (in great state)
  • My old bass with its amp
  • My poster collection
  • My sword’s box (because I DO own a sword n_n)
  • Old pink kitten heels *_*
  • Yoga mat
  • Dancing mat
  • A videocassette of my friends and I circa 2003
  • Loads of bags!!!

I’m still missing a lot of things that ned to be organized. But I gues that’s what happens when I’m on my clean freak stage.

Next on my break agenda:

  • Bake cupcakes
  • Learn to drive (again ¬_¬)
  • Buy clothes (because I can)
  • Order some books online (Narnia and Sisterhood of the traveling Pants)
  • Play videogames (and finish JAK)
  • Write some more articles
  • Buy at least this magazines:
    • InFashion
    • Mexican Vogue
    • Spanish Vogue
    • InStyle
    • Art & Décoration
    • Cosmo Girl (the real Cosmo has way too much sex articles for my taste n_n’)

I have nothing else to say.

Kisses,

Julie.
